Foundation Fundraising Officer

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Fundraiser to join our small Foundation team enabling us to develop and increase our income generation.  You will help generate new ideas and develop our existing initiatives and fundraising strategies in order to maximise income from Trusts, Foundations and individual donors for our projects and programs overseas.   

You must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role with a successful record of raising funds and securing donations from Trusts and Foundations together with experience of cultivating new donor relationships. You must have strong communication and people skills and the ability to develop positive and productive networks, together with experience of managing relationships and meeting financial targets.  You must be proactive, flexible and organised with experience of working in a multi task environment. With the drive and enthusiasm to get things done, you will be comfortable working to tight deadlines.

Knowledge of Fairtrade and experience of working in the developing world will also be an advantage.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate commitment to and empathy with the aims and objectives of the Society.

This is a great opportunity to use or develop your data entry skills to assist Shared lnterest by entering responses to our sixth members' survey to an online survey system. Responses are received by post and volunteers will be manually entering the surveys onto our online system to enable us to understand and analyse our strategy for the next five years.

Data entry should be carried out with accuracy and attention to detail to ensure members' views are noted correctly.

Work will be carried out within communicated timescales, which includes training and office visits, and volunteers will work within the policies, procedures and guidelines of Shared lnterest.

This role will be home based and so times of volunteering are flexible to the volunteer. The time period for completion of the activity will be two to three weeks from the beginning of February. Support from the organisation will be available during office hours (Mon-Fri 9-5).
